The bottom is a great place to park because you take the bus in the beginning and end up at your car after the float! Join us for a Lazy River Rafting (more of a float) on the Truckee River!

Saturday, July 6th - All are welcome.

Shuttles will leave the Resort at Squaw Creek at 11am Saturday July 6th.

A Lazy (Fun) Float Down the River, Truckee River

Is there anything better than floating a Lazy River with friends and beverages. A very unique and locals way to enjoy the river that could take about 2-3 hrs depending on how many breaks you have.

We will start by heading to the River Ranch (shuttles provided) at 11am. Be sure to bring supplies you will need on the river including drinks, picnic lunch, sunscreen, coolers, floating devices There is a Grocery store across the street once we get to the top of the river. (We will supply you with some Coors Lights & Rosé + water.)

Along the 5-mile, 2-3 hr float you will be entertained with many sights, thanks to both the scenic beauty surrounding you as well as the diversity of fellow floaters alongside you. The river weaves through tall pine trees, varies between shallow sandy portions and deep, rocky emerald waters, tall grasses, ducks under wooden bridges, introduces sandy beaches great for picnic lunches and glides along the bike path as well as Highway 89 to your right. You will meet multi-generational families on family summer vacations, couples and rowdy entourages setting up “party” camp along beaches… We may just have to keep the party going and say hi on the shallow portions of the river. I have seen it all over the years… from floating small Weber BBQs to queen-size bed air mattresses as floating devices, even DJ set up on Party Island. You will be sure to be entertained by the sites around you.

We will celebrate the end of our journey, dry-off and reward ourselves with food and drinks at River Ranch Lodge and Restaurant at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. We will then kick back and enjoy the rest of the after noon on the expansive outdoor patio and watch as rafters negotiate the last section of rapids into the large pool of emerald waters in front of the restaurant’s large viewing and sunning patio.

We will encourage those non-rafters to join us for a pre-float beverage or two on the patio at the River Ranch out door bar. Please bring cash as this will be a no-host event. See you on the river!

Cheers, C+C
